How Does Jesus Become High Priest?

Israel initially was called to be a kingdom of priests. What we see is with David, God's plans for his people are being fulfilled. So the king represents what the people are supposed to be. And there's another priest king that we find earlier in Genesis that David might be taking in tradition from.
