The Origin of Cuneiform Astrology
The Babylonians had been recording omens based on the heavens, but their omens were limited to the motions of the moon. But by this period, Babylonian astronomers began recording the positions of the other planets in addition to the position of the sun and the moon. The positions of the planets were a fertile source of interpretation to predict what was to come in the future. People developed ever more complex means to understand what was happening in the world around them and how they should act.
