The Importance of Being Baptized

John is about to hand over the baton when he says, I need to be baptized by you. He's probably expecting that Jesus will say, all right, John, time to wrap it up now. This language is about like going down into the water and then coming up back up onto the bank. When it says they both came up out of the water, this is not a passage like proving immersion. Now unless they were both baptizing each other, which I don't think happened, that's not what it's talking about.
