The Neuropsychological Deficits of Lightning
Dr. Marianne Cooper was one of the few medical doctors who even tracked lightning research. She says that physiological changes associated with the lightning actually look very similar to those associated with repeated traumatic brain injuries. Just like a concussion, lightning disrupts these connections. There's a theory that lightning strips the brain's nerves of myelin. A fatty protective sheath that acts like the casing around an electrical wire and insulates it.
