The Cost Effectiveness of Treatments for Functional Disorders
There were two studies looking at the cost effectiveness of essentially CBT for patients with functional disorders or functional seizures. But I think it's important to take a very nuanced approach to these studies and what figures they're reporting. FND is a heterogeneous condition and patients have a significant amount of variability, not just in the nature of their symptoms, but also their comorbidities. So if you're just focusing on seizures, but you don't think about or consider the other comorbid problems, you're going to dilute your treatment benefit for a subset of patients.
