The Importance of Astrology

Ibn Ezra says the liberation of Jews was very impressive indeed, since it miraculously overturned malign astral influence. Ibn Ezra presented these ideas in a debate with his colleague and acquaintance Judah Halavi. Of course, astrology had more quotidian uses, too: casting birth horoscopes or making day-to-day decisions.
