Introduction
John Klob was a tax attorney for several years, then practiced criminal and family litigation. In 1997, John was stricken with undiagnosed Lyme disease and he and his wife Jackie purchased a former dairy farm in Vermont's remote northeast kingdom. He became aware of where his food came from, but also the laws and economic favoritism for individual farming that undermines small farms as well as food safety and freshness. His book Small Farm Republic is why conservatives must embrace local agriculture, reject climate alarmism, and lead in environmental revival.
