The Case of Google vs. Isis

In November 2015, noemi Gonzales was murdered by Isis Terrace as part of the large-scale Isis attack in Paris. She was one of 129 victims in her estate and her family subsequently brought suit against Google alleging that through YouTube that it aided an embedded Isis. The district court dismissed this complaint based on section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. And for that reason, both the district court and the Ninth Circuit determined that Google fell under the protection of section 230.
