Thiamon Deficiency Disorders and Alcohol Use Disorders

Medical student saw a case of Wernicke's encephalopathy and some associated very, very components. Nobody really thought of thiamon because she didn't fit the mold that was traditionally associated with alcoholism. In reality, thiamon deficiency disorders are a nutritional disorder. I have looked at this in classic deficiency states but also see if we can use it in other conditions as well.
