In recent years, lots of counries like cambodia, india, tiland have banned surragasy for non residents. The concern is that women were being exploited and uneducated by foreign surrogates. Are ucranian women at risk of that sort of exploitation? It's really hard to say. But one thing that struck me when i spoke to women for the story was how much surragats who have been pregnant through the war really don't regret it.
