How Far Would a Supernova Need to Be to Be at a Safe Distance From Us?
Supernovas produce like 10 to the 58 neutrinos during their supernova explosion. It's really an incredible amount of energy in neutrinos. We're lucky that they're exploding in this sort of safe way and even still they're very dangerous. If there were a supernova in our backyard it would fry half of the earth. Or if it lasted long enough for the earth to rotate it would basically fry the whole earth.
