The Effect of Social Media on Performance

The masks of the ancient Greek theatre are back and they're not just Snapchat filters. The performance feedback loop has created again a new stage. Continually we now think of ourselves with the possibility to broadcast in a sense everywhere is a stage. And if everyone's performing and you don't get to encounter other people, it also means that often then you'll perform, you put on a mask and you don’t show yourself because you also must maintain the performance. What this does is it leads to a kind of loneliness. But an emotional loneliness is that you can have relationships, you can actually have a lot of friendships but still feel lonely.
