Do We Serve Because We Are Loved or to Be Loved?

Matthew 6.20: But where of practicing your righteousness? The things that you do that are meant to honor God, be aware of practicing those things before other people in order to be seen by them. For then you will have no reward from your father who is in heaven. And the question that I want to pose around this is, do we serve because we are loved or to be loved?
