The French Revolution has this halo of bloodshed and fire and glory that has misled even you know, the noblest souls as to its meaning. This is the sense in which Nietzsche talks about how it's a grid war that hollows any cause. And we just simply might consider how we're incapable of putting ourselves into the mindset of one of the belligerence because it's a social context alien to anyone alive today.
