The Disdainful Putin

The saga, the apartment bombings illustrates two of the main difficulties confronting anyone who seeks to penetrate the mysteries of Putin's Russia. The first was described by the historian, Richard Hofstadter. This is actually an interesting quote of the American tendency to view every enemy as a perfect model of malice. To suggest otherwise is to be an apologist or at best what in Germany is called a disdainful a Putin.
