The Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous
The first tradition identifies a problem, how do you keep unity within your group? If we fight with each other, if we have controversy about many different things, then we really don't have time to work on our own sobriety. I don't know of any other fellowship in the world that gives more open license and more open reign to their members than Alcoholics Anonymous. There is one place we will sacrifice the individual and that is to preserve the unity. That is the most important thing we have.
