It’s OK That You’re Not OK with Megan Devine

CHAPTER

How to Survive Trauma

Stephanie Fu grew up in San Jose, California surrounded by manicured landscapes and high achieving immigrant families. Stephanie's parents regularly beat her and emotionally abused her before eventually abandoning her when she was 16. In 2018, Stephanie was diagnosed with complex PTSD, a little understood and little studied form of post traumatic stress disorder that can occur from repeated long term trauma. Her best selling book, What My Bones Know tells the story of that intense childhood abuse and the coping patterns that helped her survive it.
