The Army of the Andes

José de saint martin marched an army through the andes, which he had been told time and time again just couldn't be done. It took fully three weeks to emerge on the other side of the mountains, frozen, exhausted and malnourished. When they emerged into chile at the chacabuco plains, they basically landed right on top of a 15 hundred mann spanish garrison. Despite o'higgins jumping the gun, the battle of buco turned out to be a rout.
