The Hard Problem of Neuroscience

Doctors say they may be able to use the same calculations to calculate phi for people who have had very severe brain injuries. When that happens doctors can find it hard to know just how conscious people really are and whether they might recover. If integrated information theory is found to be along the right lines well that might take us somewhere closer to understanding consciousness at least a bit more than we currently do one day.
