The official body that sets the recession dates is ta national bureau of economic research. They usually wait until all of the data is in its final revised form, and they're not allowed to revise their dates. Once they set date, february of 20 20 was the start of the cironovirus recession. And once they dated it, its set in stone forever. Hundreds of academic researchers and economists would use those dates for theyre's for their work. It may not matter to you or me, noon we knew or say, we knew the economy sucked by the fall or early summer. Just tell us we're in recession.
