What Is Not Invented Here Syndrome?
Not invented here syndrome means we overestimate certain categories of risk. If you've seen a plane crash recently, then you'll have a very vivid memory of what that looks like and it will make you scared of your own flight. It's important to remember that that heuristic is very reasonable. Your brain is a survival machine. And in the majority of situations where there's a negative outcome throughout your evolutionary history, the negative outcome was game over.
