What's the Point of Zero COVID in China?
In China, the government has a policy of zero COVID cases. This means that if there is even one such case, it could put your entire city in lockdown. "It's impossible really to make any plans," says journalist and author Zain Verjee. A recent fire killed at least 10 people who couldn't get help because they were under lockdown.
