The future is unknowable and as he puts it, everything changes. Howard Marks: You have to accommodate yourself to reality as it is. He would say in markets, for example, you just want to adjust as if you were driving your car in icy conditions. The idea that we don't know the future, everything's unknowable, seems like something where you would just kind of throw up your hands and despair or so I do? But actually what someone like Howard Marks is teaching us is, look at reality as well as you can.
