Is There a Seasonal Flue Pandemic?

The hysteria around a real flue pandemic would be more about, how the heck do we fix these vaccines that we haven't been able to fix for 50 years? With sars cove too, we've centered on variants. So why are some viruses so stable in that they don't require new vaccines or new responses by our immune systems? And others change so frequently that we need to keep making new vaccines for them.
