Is There a Progressive Revelation?
Could it be that scripture is still important and inspired, but we read it more as a journey of a people's progressive understanding of God? The word progressive has had a long and checkered history. I see Abraham at his best, got as much of it as any of them. David at his worst was worse than the rest of them.
