The Importance of Philosophy
Philosophy in doing philosophy isn't a profession, it's why philosophize. "I had this compulsion to explore the foundations of arguments or the rational basis for things" I was always interested in understanding sort of the logic behind what somebody was and then also what that position committed them to. And so in a certain weird way, philosophy wasn't necessarily an avocation or a field of study that I chose."
