The Five Star Movement is trying to appeal to working class people through material concerns rather than cultural ones. Leta's party certainly is a social democratic party, which appeals to the professional classes. Luigi DiMio is a little bit more left-leaning than Giuseppe Colte was and his faction of the Five Star Movement would have been more compatible with Leta.
