The Cost of Operating a Node in Bitcoin
Bitcoin has introduced two forms of digital scarcity. The space in Bitcoin's blockchain is equally scarce and whenever you need to... And why is block space scarce? Well, why does it have to be scarce? Why can't we just have unlimited block size? It's related to the cost of operating a node. We want to keep the number of nodes out there as high as possible to avoid centralization. Keep it as accessible as possible to use your own node. In theory, I mean, you could even run a full node on your phone if the phone has enough space.
