Lucky Jim is a little more appealing where it's a little more outsidery than I think Kingsley and Martin ended up being in their in subsequent books. He used to say that people would ask him, you know, what's the novel about? And he just point at the book. Like, how can it be summarizing it? It's got everything in it that I put in it, not just one or two sentences of summarizing it. So let's talk about his style. There was one phrase I'll never forget: She had money dignity. That's so perfect for describing her.
