Montagne's Skepticism

Pierre Chachon was a preacher and theologian who helemized against the Protestant Reformers. He drew on Montagne extensively in his own writings, especially a work called On Wisdom. One suggestion has been that skeptical arguments drawn from Montagne are designed to clear away false beliefs. This procedure would make it possible for the innate seeds of knowledge to blossom fully into virtue.
