I don't think i've been so upset by a political event since 9 11 as i have by the catastrophic american withdrawal from afghanistan. It's really about us and our self confidence and morale as a country, and about whether we still believe in america. The idea that this is a good outcome is, i think, an impossible cell, unless you have entirely given upon the idea of being a super power. There seem to be people who can rise to the highest eschelons of government entirely ignorant of the most elementary lessons of history. We've basically thrown in the taliban when the death toll had gone to zero for us last eight months. And it's just pathetic
