Genetic Screening for Cancer
In the cancer realm, we can look at genes that are known to protect us from cancer. If there's a pathogenic variant or mutation in one of those genes, it lowers our protection for cancer. So then in turn, it increases our risk to develop cancer. The most common is BRCA 1 and 2; people may know because of Angelina Jolie.
