8 miles high is widely regarded as one of the first examples, if not the first example of Sagadawik Rock. The song got banned by many radio stations for promoting drug use but made number 15 on the chart. Terry Melcher left the group citing his fear of flying and Jean Clark became increasingly unhappy with all the in-fighting between Crosby and McGwen.
