Zina Huntington's Polygamy
The story of Zina Huntington is heartbreaking. When Joseph started his polygamy, he said he married his first wife in 1835 with Fanny Alger. But that's another story. He approached her about marriage in 1841. She told him no. And because she had another boyfriend, Henry Jacobs, and six months after that, she married Henry Jacobs.Joseph agreed to marry them, but never showed up to the marriage. They had to be married by Brigham Young. This is a civil marriage. It's so manipulative, so coercive.
