The Neo-Assyrian Empire
The Neo-Assyrian Empire was a world empire stretching from the Caspian Sea to the cataracts of the Nile. It laid the groundwork for all that followed in exceptionally important ways. The Assyrians built massive imperial cities with towering walls and impressive monuments. They also had armies equipped for the first time with iron weaponry and true horse-mounted cavalry.
