The Bank of New York's Failure to Succeed in Transaction Settlements
The Bank of New York Mellon is a major clearing house for international financial transactions. The bank claims that on 9 11, its telecommunications systems were down and it couldn't track and monitor and settle the transactions within the bank. But there's already problems with this story because transfer centers weren't even located in Manhattan. This gets like really weird when you start to consider Like the scale of these transactions. You can measure the transaction volumes against kind of the transaction volumes happening with all other banks that day.
