"When you lack human agency, you become a victim," she says. "Human agency is this idea where you take responsibility for your own life" She and her husband worked up to 90 hours in just four days at Mosaic last week. The couple have been arguing with their mom about some documentary they didn't want to watch.
It is easier to become smart than to become wise. People think you're wise because you're smart and you can outsmart a lack of wisdom. When you're running on your intelligence without wisdom, it's like running down a mountain and having an avalanche behind you. It will catch up with you eventually.
You can survive on being a good communicator, having a lot of charisma and engaging people in sales. But if you don't have character, it's the crux of the other three. It won't matter how good your communication is or how great of a leader you are, without character, your company will collapse. Most people who are highly focused on scaling are really oftentimes blind to sustaining.
