Critical theory has truly opened up the canon, right? And I think also within reason, one of the great gifts that critical theory has given us is reader response. It's a way to read literature. Anything is a text. So you're not engaging with the primary text at all. You're critiquing other people's critiques of a text. Right. For somebody like Wendy and even Ramanujan, that is a weird kind of false consciousness. What does Marmartha say? Why don't you look at that before you tell me what Amit said about Marmartha?"
