Sleep Regulates Inner Combustion
Everything transformed into action by the human will causes a process of organic combustion. When i think, i solidify my organism and deposit solids in it. With my will, i burn up something in my organism. But this inner process of combustion must not be thought of as physical combustion like that of chemistry or physics. Sleep regulates inner combustion by spreading it throughout the organism. Otherwise it would remain confined to the organs of movement. In a sense, our bodies would literally burn up if sleep did not reduce combustion to the proper intensity.
