Introduction
We need to start looking at political science through the lens of subsidiarity. How do we prevent what has happened over the last hundred years, which is that wherever you look, governments have been on a one-way trajectory in terms of their scale. People tend to get obsessed with how to avoid cheating in elections or how to prevent pork barreling in legislative processes. I don't think that's where the attention should be. Those things follow naturally from centralization and increasingly increasing scale of government. You ought to be applying our mind to how localization can be fostered,. decentralization, subsidiarity, and then those problems will go away or at least moderate.
