Is Bill Gates Buying Up Farmland?

The New York Stock Exchange has partnered with the Rockefeller Foundation and South American banking conglomerate to allow the listing of natural assets. If a farmer can sell his land, then instead of feeling like he has to grow food on it in an ecologically damaging way in order to make a living, now he can basically be paid to grow clover instead. And then the clover will be trapping carbon into the soil. It's kind of like the next version of colonialism where you've got outside powers exploiting the resources of a resource rich country. I kind of have a bad feeling about it.
