Eric Bernay, one of the great psychiatrists here in the U.S., put it very graphically: imagine a client who's up to his nose in a cesspool. Are you ready to barter your degree for happiness? How about this? You're not going to be a success. You're going to fail. But you'll be blissfully happy.
