The Battle of Agincourt

The battle was a triumph of range weapons against cavalry. Henry V demonstrated his toughness by fighting in the battle and even taking an axe blow to his own helmet. Some estimates suggest that possibly up to 40% of French nobility died in the battle. The English believed that the victory Agincourt simply signified that God approved of their king's claim to the French throne, since few Englishmen defeated so many French soldiers.
