The Colorado Compact, Stephanie?
For the first time in 99 years of recorded history, a water shortage has been declared for parts of the Colorado River. A 20-year drought exacerbated by climate change is jeopardizing that river's future and long-standing agreements between states. In 1922, the federal government and the seven states that rely on the Colorado River created an agreement that would determine how the river is allocated between states. Today it's used as the foundation of decision-making as water managers and policy makers try to manage the river's future.
