Tetsushi Sakamoto, who is already the minister. and charged a deal with La Pran, Japan's declining birth rate and promoting regional revitalization was chosen to oversee government policies on loneliness earlier this month. Prime Minister Suga chose Sakamoto as his minister for economic revitalization when he was elected in September 2020. In October, more people died from suicide than they died from COVID-19 in Japan in all of 2020.
