In 2000, he was dumpster diving behind the food for less at the corner of West Venice and Southwestern near Korea town. He pulled some stuff out of the way in this dumpster to see if there was anything good at the bottom. The first thing he did was call a local news station and tell him that he had the missing Oscars. And so when Vanity Fair asked him why he called the news station first, he said, "A black man with that kind of stuff is automatically guilty"
