The Culture of Philosophy
The whole purpose, supposedly, of school and university is to learn. But the process of learning requires that we make errors along the way. Instead, errors are punished thrith bad marks or low rankings. A high rate of errors typically means you're making lots and lots of fast progress. The original sources of scientific theories are almost never good show could they be? All subsequent expositions are intended to be improvements on them, and some succeed. There is rally any reason for scientists to address the obsolete problem, situations that motivated the great scientist of the past.
