The Death of Napoleon Bonaparte

In 1814, after a year that included the largest pre-World War I battle that Europe ever fought, Napoleon Bonaparte lost the war of the Six Coalition. He was forced to sign the Treaty of Fountain Blue and was exiled to the island of Elba. In February 1815, Napoleon escaped Elba; he kind of escaped. Louis XVIII was crowned King of France, and the Bourbon dynasty was restored to the throne.
