The UK's Response to Putin's Interest in Expanding His Influence in the Slavic Region of Europe
There has been discussion of what the UK might do if Putin looks like his position is being weakened. Because of Ukraine, we've learned a lot more about Russia's intentions and perhaps surprise maybe that Putin has had this interest in expanding his influence in the Slavic region of Europe. In order to be leader in Russia, you need to look strong. You need to look infallible. As soon as cracks appear, as soon as you look vulnerable, then I'm afraid the Kremlin starts to get twitchy and perhaps look for a replacement.
