What's the Difference Between the Date and the Date?

i think it would have been wise for the craters to leave out month and day, because they were a distraction. And if you're moving in a filmed medium, i which you have to move fast past things, you don't want to have extraneous information. But even in so subtle a change as the audio book, in which it's much harder to flip back and forth between the pages that are the starts of two chapters,. those details of dates become less valuable.
